Food stand powered by electric vehicle

Outdoor events like Roskilde Festival usually have two options when they need electricity: A good connection to electricity network or diesel generators - which is expensive and not  environmentally friendly.

Natural peak loads occur during a festival like Roskilde, so to ensure enough power to cope with them, you need to oversize its connection to the power grid or the number of generators. But these peak loads can also be achieved by having a layer that can respond quickly to changes in the need for power.

The electric car was located at the food court was transported to and from the festival in the food courts closing times 04-10 to leave the car at a fixed charge charging station with a so-called three-phase output rather than on-site charging with a one-phase output. The charging time was thus reduced from 15 hours to 40 minutes. (15 hours was not an option since the food court has only closed for 6 hours).

Electric cars can be part of the solution, as it is possible to unload some models, while electric cars are already widely used around the Copenhagen area. It makes it possible to rent the electric cars during the festival and make them the stock of power for peak loads. It is the electric cars' batteries that directly replace the energy that the generators produce on diesel and therefore are an environmentally friendly approach to the probelemet. In this way, the festival can lower the cost of generator and connections to the grid, and the landlord may have their cars fully rented during the period.
