Sustainable Festival construction

DTU's TechLab will be replaced by 2018, and a group of students investigated in 2017 how it can be done in the best and most sustainable manner. They examined the overall environmental performance of the 2017 Pavilion through a life-cycle analysis, and on the basis of it, draft a design proposal for next year's pavilion.

Among the objectives of the new pavilion they made sure that the most of the materiel where recycled from the old pavilion.

During the festival, students made a registration of the entire TechLab area and a social analysis of how the other students - and not least festival guests - use the pavilion. This information will be used to set requirements for the new building, which has been passed on to the 11900 Building Component Design course, where they are using the pavilion as a case.
