ReciPlyDome

ReciPlyDome is a reciprocal dome structure. This means that the elements are biased and support each other. In this way, the forces are more efficiently utilized. ReciPlyDome is part of a research project and collaboration between KADK, VUB and DTU.

A problem with building a festival is access to tools, scaffolding and cranes. You want constructions that do not require these things, and this problem can be tackled through reciprocal constructions. (Reciprok = things that support each other).

By using the reciprocal pattern, you can achieve a progressive assembly of the construction. The lightweight and simplicity of the elements ensures that you can lift it without the need for mechanical aids.

The construction is easy and thus mobile. At the same time it is easy to assemble and consists of uniform elements that make defective elements easily replaceable. At the same time, the elements are recyclable and produced from sustainable materials.
